Tied in the Middle: Waist Belts

January 24, 2017

Waist Belts are making a comeback as the “It” accessory of 2017. Paired with pants, dresses, or skirts – waist belts add style and interest to an array of outfits. Not to mention, they highlight your figure and show-off your feminine form. An otherwise standard outfit is completely elevated with the addition of a waist belt. No matter your taste nor personal style, there is an iteration for everyone. Go “Granny Chic” in a brocade belt with an over-sized circle clasp, a la Miu Miu. Paired with trousers, a blouse, and a cashmere sweater, your “librarian” look just got a major stylish update. Feeling more “glam?” Try a metallic wrap waist belt like the one featured on the Resort 2017 Balmain Runway. Give a standard black slip dress a face lift by wrapping yourself in a waist belt. Accessorize further with stilettos and long chandelier earrings to master a show-stopping look for a night out on the town. For a more office appropriate or daytime look, wear a sweater dress with a belted waist. Choose loafers or ballet flats to keep your look both comfortable and versatile, yet elevated. Don’t feel confined.  Go ahead, and get all “wrapped-up” in waist belts.
