Fancy Pants

December 13, 2016

‘Tis the season for parties- family, friends, work, and more. Our calendars are as full as our champagne flutes. Kudos to whomever can manage to wear a shiny new dress to every social event on this season’s docket. But for the rest of us, several new holiday dresses are simply not an option.  Oftentimes our standard go-to party looks seem stale and unexciting and are typically not pieces that one can wear throughout the year which makes swiping the credit card even more painful. Avoid committing an “outfit repeat” crime this winter by adding a pair of “Fancy Pants” into the mix. Sequined, ruffled, velveted, or with exciting proportions, statement pants can either “steal the show”, or be understated.  And better yet, it’s something you can incorporate into your wardrobe again and again. Femininity and elegance don’t have to be compromised when putting the attention on your bottom half. Make sure you find a pair that are tailored and fit perfectly, so not to overwhelm your frame. Style your fancy pants with a white-t, blazer, and heels for an understated, sexy look. Or, go full-drama by pairing your statement pants with an equally attention-grabbing blouse a la Chloe. Being festive does not have to come in the form of a LBD or sequin dress. Your “Fancy Pants’ will do all the hard work for you this holiday season!

Styling

Don’t fear your closet, embrace it! Let’s face it, for many of us fashion feels like a never-ending tide of chic looks, must-have handbags, jaw-dropping shoes and bold accessories. Keeping up with trends is expensive, knowing how to work with the clothes you already own seems tricky, and dressing to cover your perceived flaws feels like an exercise in futility. Not any longer. Fashion and styling isn’t about expensive designers or the . . .
