To Post or Not to Post: Conundrums of a Wardrobe Stylist

There are parts of every job that are more challenging than others.  Right?  For those of us who love what we do; isn’t it fair to acknowledge that there are still aspects we struggle to figure out?  You might be thinking, “You’re a wardrobe stylist, what in the world could possibly be challenging?”  Well, even a wardrobe stylist has his/her conundrums.  It’s not earth-shattering, it’s not riveting, it’s not even a blip on the map when it comes to real issues.  It’s just my conundrum.  What is it, you might ask?

How do I keep up with the social media world, today?

It takes so much time to create concepts, to curate looks, to style, to blog, to post.   I do “the create,” “the curate” and “the styling” every day and believe me, I love it.  But, then comes the blogging and the posting…and quite frankly, I’m just not good about it.  I’ve spent hours putting a post together, then I’ll throw it up there for the world to see, and cross my fingers for a “like.” Some people post a picture of a water bottle and get more engagement than my hours of styling and editing.  So, I ask myself, is it worth the time and energy to post content?  And to be completely sarcastic, is anyone even reading this post?

So, please help.  If you are reading this and you want some content that actually helps you with your style, then please tell me.  Tell me what you want to know about styling, what I could post to help you put looks together and how can I help you develop your own personal style.

Until next time!alexandra munzel

Styling

Don’t fear your closet, embrace it! Let’s face it, for many of us fashion feels like a never-ending tide of chic looks, must-have handbags, jaw-dropping shoes and bold accessories. Keeping up with trends is expensive, knowing how to work with the clothes you already own seems tricky, and dressing to cover your perceived flaws feels like an exercise in futility. Not any longer. Fashion and styling isn’t about expensive designers or the . . .
